Jeff King and the Dead Puppy Scandal

Kansas Sen. Jeff King of Independence, will not seek re-election this year. 

Now, some random guy deciding not to run for office -- even if he is the Senate Vice President-- isn't that big of a deal. However, King decided to give the state a lovely parting gift by bashing conservatives and Gov. Brownback on his way out the door.

In a windy statement that had me choking on bile, King wrote: 

"The recent veto session shows the harm of putting politics over good government," writes in his statement. 

He told the Wichita Eagle that the session in which legislators voted against closing the LLC loophole isn't "governing."

"That's political cowardice that cannot be rewarded."

Absolutely classless and graceless, when I happen to have an inkling where that guy's skeleton's are buried. Be wary, legislators and political hacks tempted to quote Sen. Jeff King as if he's walking on moral high ground, because I do not believe that to be the case.

There are disgusting rumors afoot, and from his meandering statement that makes ample mention of his children and none of his spouse, well, I'm beginning to draw some conclusions about those rumors.

It's time to start watching the court filings over in Montgomery County. There's smoke there.

Good people can disagree on policy, but when your moral shortcomings make it impossible or imprudent for you to remain a public figure, the graceful thing to do is ride into the sunset with some of your integrity in tact by letting the people with integrity battle it out without adding your sentiments.
